Mezzo-soprano and music educator Alyssa Burdick has been featured as a soloist with Mankato Symphony Orchestra (Handel), Minnesota Orchestra (Bernstein, Haydn), Bach Society of Minnesota (Handel), and in 2023 will appear with Bloomington Symphony Orchestra (Beethoven) and Minnesota Saints Chorale and Orchestra (Gardner). She was thrilled to join Journey North Opera Company in fall 2022 for the Minnesota premiere of Missy Mazzoli’s haunting opera, Proving Up.
In January 2023, Alyssa joined three other local singers on a recital of Russian Romantic song, with Jared Miller, pianist. Other recent recital programs include OOPS MN’s Classic Christmas concert and Dominick Argento’s striking song cycle, From the Diary of Virginia Woolf.
Alyssa also sings with the Minnesota Chorale—the symphonic choir for the Minnesota Orchestra—and appears frequently in chamber ensembles with the Bach Society of Minnesota.
She lives in Plymouth, MN, where she teaches private lessons, directs a community men’s choir, and is raising three boys.
